From the gallery of history,
And the high minarets,
From the forest of dreams,
In the wind of the East,
And [with] unthinkable anguish.
As if they had come to blow,
Into the trumpet
In order to make you raise up for rebellion.
Women and men
Are freeing Egypt
From her weighty boundaries,
From her long patience
From centuries of (her) humiliation
Which was above all possibilities.
They destroy in the morning
The pompous citadel of error
And they burn on the square,
In the center of the dance of the media,
The cheering and the songs,
The fettering chains
While they are shining in the wide.
Oh Egypt, [how] tender [is your] appearance,
Oh [how] lovely [is] are your features
On your weeding of joy.
The masses are fascinated of her [Egypt].
***
The mountains are shaken
As if they had come to give birth to the nation
And the future is born
Which is full of hope.
As if they had come from the imagination,
They are quaking the earth,
With a determination that beats
The strength of the earth-quake,
For the awakening of a myth
Which pushed and made the
People stand up.
As if they had come
In their crowds
In order to make the questions and answers worthless
About the true nature of their march.
They are sacrificing to the freedom
Which surrounds the square
their heroes.
As if they had come from the imagination,
From the astonishment of the streets
Which are filled with joy.
And the children cheer to Cairo
Which gazes through their eyes
And takes them to her breast
And is proudly walking
Because of their high words
The heart says: "victims" and the yellow poster "freedom". Source: Shabab at-Tahrir (supplement of al-Ahram), 3 of March 2011, p. 04. |
In front of our people,
In front of the scene of history
Of our past
In front of whole Egypt,
In the triumphal procession,
[Of] all of this generations.
Egypt is decorated
In order to enter history
And pay tribute to her glory.
She reveals her secret to all the centuries.
She tries to reach perfection.
She tries to reach perfection.
As if they had come from imagination.
